Can you introduce yourself and your business?

We are a small family who moved from Toronto 3 years ago and we have decided to open iCleanse Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning with the aim of using our knowledge and skills to serve our new community. We have the energy, and we are motivated to get the job done. At iCleanse Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning, we are very concerned about the safety of your family and your staff. We implement the most effective cleaning process and use detergents able to eliminate most germs and bacteria that can contaminate us. Our products are efficient and safe to use for Residential & Commercial cleaning jobs. We pride ourselves in fighting stubborn stains, pet urine, odor, and more.

What brought you to Greater Moncton?

One of the main reasons we moved to Moncton is that it offers a safe place to live and raise children. As Moncton grows, it offers a great opportunity for new entrepreneurs to evolve and become successful in business. Overall, New Brunswickers are warm, welcoming and Moncton’s quality of life is exceptional.

What challenges have you faced as a black entrepreneur?

Starting a new business in a new city is a challenge in itself. Specifically, for us, the main challenge was to increase our clientele and build our reputation in the community. Our participation in Programs; like the BIE with 3+Corporation and Mentorship program with Université de Moncton and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton really helped us to overcome this major challenge. We are equipped with strategies to best demonstrate that we are knowledgeable in the cleaning industry and gain our customer’s trust.

What have been notable successes in your experience so far?

As of now, a notable success is our customer’s satisfaction. Our mission is to help families and other businesses keep their carpets, rugs, and upholstery clean and fresh.

What advice would you give to someone in the Black community who wants to start a business?

First, do some research so you can determine if the type of business you want to start is needed in the community. Secondly, don’t be afraid to ask for help from experienced entrepreneurs, find corporations like 3+ that can assist you through your journey. Lastly, always do business with integrity.

Thank you,
