Zina Aljaratli, founder of Surreal Design Studio, grew up in Aleppo, Syria. She holds a BSc in Fine Arts, majoring in Graphic Design from Aleppo University. Zina’s expert people and cultural skills, complimented by keen listening, have ensured that her exceptional expertise has been recognized worldwide. She has worked for Belgium’s Bostani Chocolatier as an Art Advisor & Graphic Designer for their markets in China, the USA, Middle East and Europe. Among the many branding and marketing projects she realized in Damam, Saudi Arabia, were a beauty brand and shopping mall. Her most recent clients include the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Moncton (CCGM), C3 Leadership, and the New Brunswick Community College, in addition to many other respected organizations. Zina is a member of Women in Business, CCGM, Executive Edge and Driving Force. She celebrates diversity as a BIE alumna, and as a Board Member of the Moncton Boys & Girls Club, BGC Resources and Development Committee, NSPCC, and the Arab Culture Club. Zina has volunteered, and mentored orphans, with the Aleppo Orphanage. Since then, she has mentored Ingenium start-up students, and facilitated the MAGMA Kawther Coffee project, assisting immigrants to acclimate to life in Atlantic Canada. She offers free graphic design services to refugees. Zina is a regular speaker at events on diversity, immigration and women’s empowerment. In 2021, she received a Moncton of Chamber of Commerce Top 20 Under 40 Award. Zina continues to strive towards her lifetime goals, and to be a formidable example to her two children as well as to future generations, encouraging them to be everything they want to be.
