Bernard LeBlanc has more than 30 years of business leadership experience, with executive management roles in diverse industries in Canada and the United States. He has significant experience setting strategic direction to position organizations for long term-success, enhancing operations to generate profitable growth, and implementing major initiatives.
Bernard joined the Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) in January 2015. Since then he has been responsible for airport operations and growth of YQM from the passenger, cargo and commercial perspectives.
Prior to YQM, Bernard was General Manager at TransAqua, the Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission where he was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the organization, including changes to the organization structure, development of 5-year and 20-year capital plans, and corporate brand enhancement. Prior to that, Bernard spent 4 years as President and CEO at Saint John Airport in New Brunswick where he undertook long-term planning and development, oversaw day-to-day operations, and led an executive team. Previously, Bernard spent 11 years with J.D. Irving Limited (JDI) serving as General Manager across various JDI business operation lines in Canada and the United States.
Bernard is active in community and industry groups including the Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce, and has served as a board member for the Canadian Airports Council (CAC), and Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) and the Atlantic Canada Airports Association (ACAA). He currently sits on the Board of Directors of ACI-NA and ACAA.
Fluently bilingual in English and French, Bernard holds an engineering degree from McGill University and an MBA from Dalhousie University. Bernard is a registered professional engineer in the Province of New Brunswick and Ontario. In 2016, he completed the Institute of Corporate Directors “Director Education Program” and achieved the icd.d designation.
